When you are planning a trip to Orlando FL and Walt Disney World, one of the most important decisions you will make is where to stay. There are SO many choices - ranging from budget hotels in Kissimmee to the Disney Deluxe Resorts to timeshares to private vacation villas. For our family, the decision of where to stay has evolved through the years. We have tried all of the options and have found our "home" away from home!
Our first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1995 when our daughter Caitlin was just 2 years old. Since we planned to share the trip with both grandmothers, we researched Disney resorts for the best option. AT that time, the Disney Vacation Club was fairly new - we found a coupon for Old Key West, and made reservations to stay in a 2 bedroom condo. After that trip, we joined the Disney Vacation Club, and spent about 4 weeks per year in Disney properties. We have enjoyed every aspect of staying "on property" through the years. We often got to stay in wonderful resorts for a great price. We have also stayed in timeshare resorts off property, but to be honest, the great price was not worth the sales pitch and pressure to buy!
Through the years, wee have stayed at almost every Disney resort - we have enjoyed them all, and treasure our family memories at Disney World. Although we have also stayed in very nice resorts when not vacationing in Orlando, we always came to the same conclusion "it is nice, but it is not Disney." There are very few places and organizations that can offer the incredible accommodations that Disney has AND deliver impeccable service!
Then, in 2006, we decided at the last minute to take spring break in Orlando - our oldest daughter LIVES and BREATHES fast pitch softball --- and her idea of a PERFECT vacation included as many spring training baseball games as we could schedule. We attempted to get a room on Disney property, but there was nothing that was even close to reasonable. A fiend told us about Windsorhillsrent - we sent a general inquiry, and stayed in a WONDERFUL condo for less than half the price of one room on property. From there, we started thinking... and studying ... and then BUILDING vacation homes of our own!!
We are now the proud and excited owners of 2 beautiful vacation homes in Windsor Hills Resort in Kissimmee FL. The resort is located less than 3 miles to Walt Disney World, and includes all of the amenities you would expect to find "on property" or in any 5-star resort. We started this adventure in 2007, and have enjoyed every minute of owning our own home. We have met wonderful folks from all over the world, and have had incredible vacations in our own home!
